Devil’s Den reminded me why I love tiki bars, they’re fun!!
Downtown Boise is happening! There’s tons of cool places to go out for food and drinks and I was really nice to see people out and about and enjoying themselves. This is where you will find Devil’s Den, but you got to go downstairs first…
The décor at Devil’s Den is nautical beachcomber meets tropical beach bar. There’s not a lot of bamboo, thatch or anything that you would find in a traditional tiki bar, but just like a traditional tiki bar, Devil’s Den is dark, really dark! I really liked the dichotomy of the usual bright and sunny tropical mixed with the darkness and the underground feel of Devil’s Den.
The drink menu at Devil’s Den is pretty interesting because there are some familiar classic tiki cocktails like a Painkiller or a Missionary’s Downfall but I was curious to try some Devil’s Den originals.
For my first drink, I went with the F-14 Tomcat…
This drink is the Devil’s Den rift on a Jet Pilot. They limit guests to only two. The drink is strong not nearly as strong as a Jet Pilot so it was a lot easier to put back. My second drink was The Freaky Deaky…
This cocktail won the Boise Tiki Takeover and I see why, this drink combines run, lime, cinnamon, pineapple and Velvet Falernum. This a tasty drink and if I wanted to introduce someone to tiki cocktails, this would be a perfetct introduction. My drinks were delicious but what really was incredible was the Ramen…
The food selection at Devi’s Den has many Japanese influenced dishes like Katsu Chicken and Egg Rolls but Ramen was quite possibly the best Ramen I ever had, anywhere!
What really made my visit to Devil’s Den so great was the service…
The guys behind the bar were so cool. They were very knowledgeable about rum and the cocktails they were making but what I loved the most is that I could tell they were passionate about what they are doing. They were having a fun time and that vibe spread throughout the bar. I had a really enjoyed my time at Devil’s Den and you will too!
